Mequon, WI D2 Sales, LLC, manufacturer of custom designed interactive kiosks, signage and environments, is the recipient of the 2005 DIGI Award in recognition of innovation and excellence in the digital signage industry. The award was presented on March 12 at NSCA Systems Integration Expo in Orlando to D2 for its Yahoo! Interactive Bus Shelter project.
This is the first year of the annual awards, presented by ActiveLight, a national distributor of advanced displays, projectors and digital signage solutions, and sponsored by Systems Contractor News and Pioneer.
The Yahoo! interactive bus shelters feature the latest in technology, including 42" plasma screens, stainless steel keyboards and ultra-fast thermal printers, housed in a weather resistant, secure steel and plastic enclosure that replaces one entire wall of the shelter structure. The unit also features a lighted overhead sign, scrolling ticker, local map graphics and a doorbell that calls out the Yahoo! yodel when pressed. The shelters were created to promote Yahoo!'s new Yahoo! Local service.
"We are proud to recognize the resellers, dealers and integrators who are increasing the visibility of the value of digital signage across a range of markets," said Brad Gleeson, president of ActiveLight, Inc. "The winners are clearly helping move the industry forward with their innovation, creativity and commitment to excellence."
