D2's first project was to create a kiosk for ourselves - something that would represent our vision of what a kiosk is, and what it can be. From that vision came the "Tree of Knowledge", which makes it's home in our lobby in Mequon, Wisconsin.
The tree is sculpted from powder coated steel, woven to form an entirely organic message from completely inorganic material. The tree you see is a complete kiosk - the touchscreen monitor, CPU and speakers are all nested in the branches, the cables
run thru the center of the trunk and out through the roots. We wanted to send a message - that a kiosk can be whatever the brand and the image call for, and that a kiosk doesn't have to be just a box. Enclosures create an environment and allow us to integrate
the experience, the brand and the message.
Our message? Definitely Outside the Box™ |
